Ian Leighton joins Green Planning Studio as Senior Architect
Ian Leighton BA BArch RIBA has joined Green Planning Studio as Senior Architect.
Ian graduated from Liverpool University School of Architecture with a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Architecture and with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree. He was registered as an Architect in 1979, and elected as a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1980.
Ian’s experience prior to joining Green Planning Studio has included working in Private Practice and for a Local Authority Architects Department and as Senior Architect for a Major Contractors Architects Department prior to setting up his own practice in October 1985.
Over the intervening 30 years Ian has had experience of surveying properties; producing scheme designs; submitting and negotiating Planning and Listed Building Consent Applications including Planning Appeals; preparing Building Regulation Applications, preparing working drawings and specifications and schedules of work; the preparation and presentation of pre-contract documentation; advising parties on a suitable form of Building Contract; obtaining contractual tenders; the appointment of suitable contractors and sub-contractors; the administration of building contracts; interim and final payments; dealing with contractual claims; preparation of expert reports and appearing as an expert witness; office management including resource allocation; preparation of technical reports and articles for publication and the evaluation of new products and services as well as teaching.
All the above experience has been gained in connection with the architectural, building and related computer aided design field.
