Planning ahead: The most important decision for most projects is obtaining planning permission. Consent will be required for many extensions. You may have decided to keep within your permitted development rights, but it may be more sensible to go for more and make the most of your home for your family, thus enhancing its value.

Planning Appeal success in Chiswick

Green Planning Studio working with Peter Thomas de Cruz Architects have succeeded in obtaining planning consent at a planning appeal for a radical domestic extension in the Chiswick House Conservation Area adjacent to the grounds of the House itself. The appeal successfully set out that the area had changed since the Conservation Area appraisal had been carried out and that the proposal would conserve the character and appearance. The Inspector concluded that ‘the proposals would sit acceptably and harmoniously in their visual and spatial contexts without harming the integrity of the host property or the visual amenities of the CA as a whole’.

Permission obtained for new Gospel Hall

Artists ImpressionPlanning Permission was granted by Chelmsford City Council on Tuesday 17 May 2016 to our detailed planning application for a new 656 seat Gospel Hall with associated external works in Sandon.

The modern design with a curved roof and curtain walling was recommended for approval by the officers and despite some local opposition was approved by the Planning Committee.

Adrian White one of the trustees expressed the delight of the Chelmsford Gospel Hall Trust at our success in obtaining Planning Permission for a much needed new Gospel Hall to serve the community.

Matthew Green in Shropshire EU debates

Matthew GreenGreen Planning Studio director and former Liberal Democrat MP for Ludlow, Matthew Green is set to appear in at least 3 panel debates during the European referendum campaign.

Matthew Green who will be appearing on the ‘remain in’ side will first appear on the evening of Friday 13th in Ludlow, at the Methodists Hall at 7.00pm. He will be sharing a platform with his successor as Ludlow’s MP, Conservative Philip Dunne. Opposing them will be 2 representatives from UKIP.

The following Friday 20th May, Matthew will be at a debate at Church Stretton School, again at 7.00pm. This time he will be sharing a platform with former West Midlands Liberal Democrat MEP, Liz Lynne and they will be opposed by UKIP MEP Jill Seymour and Andrew Chapman, also from UKIP.

His third appearance will be on Friday 27th at the Spring Lamb, Oswestry at 7.00pm. The debate, organised by the Oswestry and District Branch of the National Farmers Union will see Matthew pitted against prominent Brexiter Owen Patterson MP.

Matthew commented. “I am coming at this primarily as a director of a growing successful local business and as an employer of people living in Shropshire and nearby. Like most businesspeople across the UK, I am arguing for us to remain in the EU. The economic shock of leaving would in my view have a profound effect on the EU economy, putting economic growth and jobs at significant risk. Brexit would leave us as a nation poorer, with less influence in the world and at greater risk from external threats.”
