Ruth Reed featured in ‘First Women UK’ exhibition

Green Planning Studio’s Director, Ruth Reed, is to be featured in the forthcoming ‘First Women UK’ photographic exhibition at The Royal College of Art from 20th July – 22nd August 2018.

As the first female President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Ruth made history in 2009, following more than 175 years of male leadership.  She has been photographed by artist Anita Corbin as part of this epic project of 100 portraits of trailblazing women in all fields of public life, alongside Betty Boothroyd, Nicola Sturgeon, and Dame Stella Rimmington to name a very few.

Artist Anita Corbin said: “Ten years ago, I had a powerful vision.  I knew I had to create a body of work unlike anything I’d seen before. I wanted to celebrate women who have pushed boundaries to achieve their dreams in their own field. I wanted to tell their story, and I wanted it to be seen in 2018 as a celebration of 100 years of female suffrage.”

Of her inclusion in the project, Ruth said: “I am thrilled to be part of this exhibition and honoured to be amongst such amazing role models”.

The First Women UK exhibition will open on 20th July 2018 in the Dyson Gallery of the Royal College of Art, Riverside, 1 Hester Road, London SW11 4AN. Entry is free, 12noon-5pm daily until 22nd August.   The exhibition will then travel around the UK, (dates and venues to be announced).
